Just had the most unhealthy day ever of junk food. This is what happens when no one bothers to cook and I get the car. It's only... day 4 and I've already resorted to instant and junk food... Tuesdays have always been particularly trying because it's the second of my two looooong days of therapy work, AND it's at Thornleigh, where there's a maccas right next door, a pizza hut and domino's close by, among other restaurants that are perhaps healthier but fancier, like Istana, Lee Central... Subway... which is only the former... but I don't trust Subways very much. I remember back a couple of years ago, I just finished donating blood at Red Cross and I was heading straight to work afterwards. Grabbed a Subway. That subway nearly killed me, I don't know what was in there but I had some sort of food poisoning from it.
Ever since then, been kinda weary about going to Subway.

Anyway, after a day of maccas and pizza hut, to balance things out a bit, I'm blogging healthy.
Five-grain rice: brown rice, black bean, pearl barley, oat, hulled millet, raw buckwheat, soybean, eyebrow bean and chick pea.
Backtracking a few weeks back, BT brought YJ and me to Green Gourmet at St Leonards because we were near that area. I've tried Green Gourmet at Newtown and have raved on about their weekend vegetarian yum cha, which is simply divine, highly recommend it to anyone.

The one at St Leonards is slightly different I think, we went for dinner. I loved the branch at Newtown for their fake meat, so we ordered these dishes especially for it. It's been so long I've forgotten the descriptions, but this looks like "char siu" vegetarian style.

Black pepper beef stir fry! I remember looking at the menu and deliberating between this one and a claypot called "Lion King" or something. The waitress mistakenly brought that claypot dish to our table (it belonged to the table behind us) and it looked so good. Gotta go back there and try it. This beef one was pretty good too though, I have absolutely NO idea how they made this "beef", it's amazing.

Their desserts were a bit disappointing in that they had this lovely list of desserts on their menu, but when we tried to order them, they were actually unavailable. Usually when that happens in a restaurant, it leaves a bad impression. There was once a cafe that served breakfast, and their menu consisted of quite a lot of dishes with egg in it, but we were told they didn't have any eggs, so those dishes were ALL unavailable. Seriously? It's not hard to run down the block and get eggs from a nearby supermarket or one of those small convenient stores.... anyway, digressing. Even though most of their desserts weren't available, this one was and it was really good. The pancake was really crispy and tasty, the tofu black sesame ice cream was good too.
Thanks, BT for bringing us there! We should go there again sometime to try the claypot! :D Good to be healthy sometimes....
(It's really silly, blogger changed their layout for some time already, and there's this side bar that allows me to put labels, schedule the post and put a location, but the location doesn't show up???)

Maybe your template just doesn't show the location data?
Maybe.. I thought it'd be in the post settings, but doesn't seem to be there...
And I tried to change my template, but it's coming up with errors... =(
Oooh you worked it out, nice :)
